Performs preventive, corrective, and condition-based overhauls on rotating and static machinery across the plant, including pumps, gearboxes, fans, valves, and boiler auxiliaries.
Key responsibilities:
- Dismantle, inspect, and rebuild boiler feed pumps, condensate pumps, cooling water pumps, and compressors.
- Replace mechanical seals, gland packing, bearings, and wear rings within specified clearances.
- Perform precision shaft alignment (dial gauge / laser) on pump-motor trains to tight tolerances.
- Overhaul gate/globe/check/safety relief valves and lap seats for drop-tight shutoff.
- Check and adjust clearances on ID/FD/PA fans, labyrinth seals, and coupling bushes.
- Conduct routine PM checks — greasing, oil change-outs, seal flushes, strainer cleaning.
Technical skills: Bearing fitment, mechanical seal configuration, tolerance fits, valve mechanics.
Education: ITI Fitter/Millwright or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience: 3-5 years maintaining pumps, compressors, and rotating machinery.
