Genearl Shift Technician - Electrical

Executes preventive checks, breakdown repairs, and testing of plant electrical assets — motors, switchgear, MCC, field lighting, and DC battery banks.
Key responsibilities:
- Carry out PM on LT/HT motors — greasing bearings and measuring insulation resistance (Megger).
- Rack in/out LT circuit breakers under permit-to-work guidelines.
- Inspect and overhaul MCC/PCC/distribution boards, checking busbar and contact tightness.
- Troubleshoot starter trips, contactor coil failures, and blown fuses.
- Test DC battery banks — cell voltages, specific gravity, and charger performance.
- Lay, dress, and terminate power/control cables using crimping tools and lugs.
Technical skills: Motor starting circuits (DOL, Star-Delta, Soft Starter), insulation testing, cable termination.
Education: ITI Electrician/Wireman or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
Experience: 3-5 years in power generation or continuous process plants.
