Plans and executes safe rigging, lifting, and structural/pipe fabrication tasks that support equipment overhauls, erection, and plant modification works.
Key responsibilities:
- Select slings, shackles, chain blocks, and lifting gear appropriate to load weight and geometry.
- Plan and execute lifts of pumps, motors, valves, and structural members using cranes/hoists.
- Fabricate pipe spools, support hangers, and structural frames from engineering drawings.
- Inspect rigging gear for wear, certification validity, and safe working load compliance.
- Coordinate with crane operators and banksmen to execute critical/heavy lifts safely.
- Assist fitters in positioning and aligning heavy equipment during installation and overhauls.
Technical skills: Rigging plans, sling angle calculations, load charts, plate/pipe fabrication techniques.
Education: ITI in Fitter/Rigger trade or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering; rigging/lifting supervisor certification preferred.
Experience: 3-7 years in industrial rigging and fabrication.
